UL Labels with PCR Content

UL-recognized labels with up to approx. 70% PCR in the polyester base material

For applications requiring both technical compliance and the use of recycled materials, we offer UL-recognized label solutions with post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.

Depending on the version, the polyester base material features a PCR content of approximately 70%, as specified by the material manufacturer.
Important: The stated PCR content refers specifically to the polyester base material used, not to the total weight of the finished label.

UL-Recognized Configurations

These material systems can be utilized within our UL-recognized applications, including:

  • PGDQ2 / PGDQ8
  • PGJI2 / PGJI8
  • PGDQ2 / PGDQ8 – UL File No. MH29406
  • PGJI2 / PGJI8 – UL File No. MH45157

Specific suitability depends on the respective material construction
and the operating conditions defined in the UL recognition.

Available Protective Constructions

Different configurations can be selected depending on the application:

  • PCR polyester without additional protective laminate:
For applications where the standard base material properties provide sufficient durability.
  • PCR polyester with protective laminate:
An additional laminate protects the surface against abrasion and contamination.
  • Configurations for demanding outdoor applications:
For environments with increased exposure to UV, weather, or mechanical stress, alternative material and protective constructions may be required. We assess the specific application to determine the suitable setup.

Transparent Recycled Content Specifications

We provide precise material data rather than vague environmental claims. The product benefit is clearly defined:

  • Approx. 70% PCR in the polyester base material (depending on the specific material version).

This allows you to incorporate verifiable recycled content into your material and procurement specifications.

Combining UL Standards with Recycled Materials

Recycled content and UL requirements are not mutually exclusive. The decisive factor is ensuring the specific material system is UL-recognized for the intended use and compliant with all relevant operating conditions.
We support you in selecting the appropriate base material, adhesive, print method, and protective construction.
