PGDQ 2/8 Certified Labels

Reliable & Competent since 1978.

PGDQ 2/8 – Marking and Labeling Systems UL-Certified Labels for Permanent Product Identification At UL Solutions, PGDQ stands for Marking and Labeling Systems. This category encompasses finished, printed, and mechanically applied labels utilized for the permanent identification of industrial products. Etikettendruck Förster has been manufacturing UL-tested and UL-recognized label solutions for industrial applications since 1990 – from technical rating plates and serial plaques to warning signs and durable product labels for demanding outdoor use. Our labels are engineered specifically to match your substrate, temperature profile, and environmental durability requirements.

For Demanding Indoor and Outdoor Applications

Particularly for industrial machinery, electrical enclosures, and outdoor equipment, labeling must remain legible and firmly attached for decades. Depending on material selection, our PGDQ labels meet strict requirements for:
  • High UV and Weathering Resistance: No fading, yellowing, or chalking under intense solar radiation
  • Lifelong Color Fastness: Vibrant, high-contrast text and safety symbols throughout product life
  • Scratch and Abrasion Resistance: Protected against rough handling and mechanical friction
  • Moisture and Thermal Shock Resistance: Impervious to rain, humidity, condensation, and rapid temperature swings
  • Chemical and Solvent Resistance: Resistant to oils, grease, fuels, and industrial detergents
  • Dependable Adhesion on Challenging Surfaces: Formulated for cast metals, textured coatings, and curved geometries
  • Permanent Legibility: Critical safety warnings, electrical ratings, and barcodes remain fully readable
Target performance is governed by the specific substrate, adhesive, and printing combination as well as operational conditions.

UL 969 – Tested for Permanent Identification

Our PGDQ labels are certified according to ANSI/UL 969 for the USA and CSA C22.2 No. 0.15 for Canada. UL recognition evaluates the complete tested system, including:
  • Label facestock substrate
  • Adhesive formulation
  • Printing method and certified inks
  • Application surface and surface energy
  • Continuous and peak temperature ratings
  • Conditions of Acceptability (CoA)
Concrete suitability is verified against the specific UL-Recognized System and its designated operating parameters.

PGDQ – Finished, Fully Printed Labels

PGDQ designates fully finished, printed, and die-cut labels. Subsequent imprinting by the equipment manufacturer is generally not covered under PGDQ (which is governed under PGJI). If your manufacturing process requires secondary in-house imprinting (e.g. via thermal transfer printers), our PGJI – Printing Materials recognition provides the appropriate certified category.
