PGDQ designates Marking and Labeling Systems within UL Solutions. This category covers finished, pre-printed, and mechanically applied labels engineered for the permanent identification of UL-certified products. Testing is conducted according to ANSI/UL 969 for the US and CSA C22.2 No. 0.15 for Canada.
Depending on the authorized construction, performance specifications such as UV and weather resistance, temperature range, adhesion bond, abrasion resistance, and chemical exposure are covered.
PGJI stands for Marking and Labeling Systems – Printing Materials. This category comprises pre-printed or blank label substrates that receive additional on-demand printing at the end-product manufacturer’s facility—such as via thermal transfer, laser, or hot stamping systems.
Permissible thermal transfer ribbons and ink formulations for a specific material construction are explicitly governed by the respective UL recognition. Unlisted ribbon or ink combinations are not approved.
PGCT covers Flag Labels, Flag Tags, Wrap-Around Labels and Related Products—specifically developed for marking electrical wiring, power cables, cords, and hoses.
Our UL-recognized cable flag labels are approved for demanding outdoor applications, including ventilation equipment, refrigeration systems, outdoor power tools, saws, and electrical machinery. Testing is performed in accordance with ANSI/CAN/UL 969A.
Etikettendruck Förster has been recognized as a UL Authorized Label Supplier since 1990 and is listed under UL File No. LP2409. The Authorized Label Supplier Program protects the integrity of UL certification marks and ensures strictly controlled manufacturing and distribution.
For our clients, this guarantees that UL markings are never printed without verified authorization. All processing adheres to UL Solutions guidelines and controlled operational protocols. We manage both Type R and Type L procedures, including formal UL review prior to production.

In addition to our proprietary label systems, we are certified under UL File No. E331140 as a provider of “Repackaged Recognized Components” (TEOU2 for the USA and TEOU8 for Canada).
This program covers processors who repackage, slit, die-cut, or convert recognized unprinted label materials while guaranteeing complete UL batch traceability throughout the supply chain.
As an Authorized Label Supplier, Etikettendruck Förster is subject to regular on-site inspections by UL Solutions under the Follow-Up Services program. These audits verify that manufacturing and marking procedures remain fully compliant with UL standards.

UL Solutions differentiates between US and Canadian Category Codes for Marking and Labeling Systems. Canadian recognition requires additional testing under CSA C22.2 No. 0.15 or ANSI/CAN/UL 969A. We deliver certified label constructions covering both target jurisdictions.
A certification mark alone does not ensure functional performance. Success depends on the interaction between facestock, adhesive chemistry, printing system, application surface, and operating environment (heat, moisture, UV, chemicals, mechanical stress).
