Thermal Transfer Ribbons (TTR)
TTR (Thermal Transfer) uses heat instead of pressure. Color pigments are transferred via heat application from a carrier film (thermal transfer ribbon) onto the substrate to be printed. Since the printing process is dry, printed materials can be used immediately. Print quality is generally high, but smudge/scratch resistance and UV stability depend on the chosen thermal transfer ribbon, as well as printhead settings, heat levels, and speed. Thermal transfer printing delivers sharp-edged, durable results on a wide range of substrates at high speeds without toxic substances.
Förster Etiketten supplies thermal transfer ribbons (TTR) from leading manufacturers and neutral or partially printed adhesive labels, including UL-certified options:
- 3M chemical-resistant TTR ribbon
- ARMOR
- RICOH
- DNP
Our thermal transfer ribbons are available in all variants. We provide expert advice on chemical-resistant, acetone-resistant ribbons (certified to BS 5609, FM 3600, and EN 60464 for EX areas), as well as high-temperature resistant FDA-compliant ribbons. With Förster Etiketten, you’ll find the perfect material solution – all from a single source!
