PGAA – UL Label Printing

UL-Recognized Printing for Industrial Markings

Operating as an authorized printing facility in the UL sector since 1990, we manufacture certified label solutions for industrial applications—precise, reproducible, and engineered to the specific requirements of your product.

Our authorization as an Authorized Label Supplier in the UL program PGAA, File No. LP2035 / LP2409, permits us to manufacture and print official UL labels in strict accordance with the specifications of UL Solutions.

We distinguish between Type R and Type L authorizations. Which variant is mandatory is determined by the UL classification of the respective product and the provisions of your applicable UL Follow-Up Service Procedure.

Type R or Type L – What Is the Difference?

Type R – Re-Examination

Manufacturing according to approved layout and marking system

Under Type R, UL markings may be manufactured and applied by the manufacturer or an Authorized Label Supplier like Förster in accordance with the design rules specified by UL Solutions.

Prior to production, we systematically verify the following parameters:

  • Valid UL authorization documentation is on file
  • Deployment of the correct official UL certification mark
  • Exact dimensional and typographical alignment of layout with authorization
  • Correct mapping of UL category and end-product classification
  • Verification of required UL approval status
  • Adherence to customer-specific engineering drawings
Important: Type R does not permit arbitrary design modifications. The parameters of the respective UL recognition are legally binding.

Type L – Listing Mark

Labels with mandatory serialized UL authorization and security features

Type L labels require specialized authorization procedures. For these products, label manufacturing is strictly monitored via serialized UL hologram labels or strictly tracked authorization forms from UL Solutions.

  • Official UL authorization verification before production release
  • Integration of serialized holographic marks or certified security patterns
  • Audit-proof serial number accounting and traceability records
  • Strict scrap control and documented disposal of setup waste
Important: Production of Type L labels cannot proceed without an official release from UL Solutions.

Type L – How the Digital Release Workflow Operates

UL Account

Prerequisite is an active account in the myUL Client Portal provided by UL Solutions.

Create or Upload Label

In the Marks and Label Hub, you configure the UL label based on your product listing or upload the finished artwork file.

Request Approval from UL Solutions

UL Solutions examines the artwork, safety pictograms, and mandatory rating elements against the product standard.

Await Digital Authorization

Upon successful verification, UL Solutions issues the official ISSUE or Order reference authorizing manufacturing.

Transmit Authorization to Förster

You forward the approved authorization documents to us for automated cross-checking against the production order.

Certified Production at Förster

Exact industrial production according to approved parameters.

UL Surveillance and Quality Assurance

As an Authorized Label Supplier, Etikettendruck Förster undergoes unannounced periodic audits by UL field representatives under the Follow-Up Service. Results are documented in official Inspection Reports.

For Type L labels, separate regulatory fees from UL Solutions apply alongside industrial manufacturing costs. These are strictly differentiated:
